Abstract

There are many types of diseases which associated with (reactive nitrogen species, RNS) , (reactive Sulphur species, RSS), and (reactive oxygen species, ROS) because the rise polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) concentrations of sperm membrane, sperm highly sensitive to ROS and oxygen damage. The sperm membrane PUFAs may be exposed to the damage which caused by exposure to ROS when the scavenging enzyme concentrations are low in the seminal plasma. The source of  ROS is the atmospheric pollutants, the metabolic process by-products, irradiations. The ROS are created by oxidation of mitochondria, bacterial infection and pathogenesis (Ray et al., 2012). The disease may arise when the concentration of ROS exceeds the body's natural defence against them (Ung et al., 2017). Some ROS are free radical. The amino acids can use as an addition in diluted extenders to decrease the oxidant formation in semen and improve ram sperm fertility. The amino acids are considered as a synergistic antioxidant. The amino acids consist of (carboxyl groups, COOH), (hydrogen, H), and (amino group, NH2), and a side chain (R). These acids have antioxidant activity due to the differences in the side chains. In conclusion that the addition of amino acids to ram semen had a role in improving most of the semen characteristics.
